From decades spent in offshore data processing, where delivery depends on precision, communication and trust.

Which brings us to now and a mission to recreate the rhythms of vessel teamworking - onshore.

We lead large, fully remote, distributed hydrographic data processing teams, supporting high-volume international survey campaigns.

Hydra Hive operates from two offices and a breakout room in Aberdeen: secure, access-controlled processing environments that align to client information management requirements.

We routinely work within:

  • Client VPN and remote desktop environments

  • Encrypted data transfer protocols (SFTP, secure portals, SharePoint)

  • Structured folder governance aligned to project IM plans

  • Controlled user permissions and audit-traceable workflows

All project data is segregated, version controlled and handled in accordance with client-specific data security procedures.

Our onshore-first model ensures continuity, controlled access and reduced risk compared to transient offshore processing setups. 

EIVA Software Capability

Hydra Hive primarily works within the EIVA software suite. Recent operational experience includes:

  • NaviEdit (MBES data processing)

  • NaviModel (3D modelling and visualisation and 3D Pipe)

Our workflows are specification-led and tailored to each survey scope, ensuring seamless integration with offshore acquisition teams and client reporting standards.

We align outputs to established deliverable formats, reducing friction between acquisition, processing and end-client handover.

    Chief Technical Officer (CTO)

    Michael is responsible for Hydra Hive’s tech stack, technical direction and project delivery.

    He sets the standards, builds systems and drives efficiency across operations.

  • David Reid

    Chief Operating Officer (COO)

    Davd is responsible for the end-to-end operation and delivery.

    That’s people, performance, timelines and outcomes.

    He runs teams, holds the line on quality, and ensures projects run to time, up to standard - even when the data gets tricky.

  • Peter Thompson

    Chairman

    Peter focuses on governance, strategy, and leveraging an extensive industry network to help Hydra Hive grow.

    He identifies opportunities where remote data processing can solve emerging challenges as more offshore survey and inspection workflows move onshore.
